Pod CMS Podcast Panel

Make the next action obvious.

A podcast panel should help an editor understand what is ready, what is blocked, and who makes the next decision. A large dashboard can still fail at that basic task. This guide proposes a manageable editorial state model rather than presenting a working control panel on PodCMS.com.

Use a short, explicit state sequence

Start with draft, in review, approved, scheduled, and published. Define what each state means in your operation. An approved recording and an approved public description may be separate checks. Do not rely on a green badge whose meaning changes depending on which teammate is looking at it.

Design for handoffs and exceptions

Give each stage an owner and make blockers understandable. Keep private coordination notes distinct from published text. Add a correction path that preserves the previous approved version. Test what happens when the usual producer is absent: another authorized editor should be able to find the correct asset and understand the remaining work.

Keep records portable

Represent the episode’s identity, release time, media reference, and supporting text clearly. The RSS item model describes public output; your internal review state is a separate concern. Avoid burying essential information in a decorative component or an undocumented integration. Ask how the panel’s records can be exported and reconstructed elsewhere.
